Politics Aside is 100% satire. We take news and politics to an absurd level, hopefully to make a point. Sometimes that point is "wow, this is stupid". Which is not a very deep point to make. Where there are facts mixed in the fake article, we link to the real news, grateful to hard working reports for doing their job.
The above paragraph references "we", which is misleading. Politics Aside is written by David Sussin as a way to vent about politics.
Brief Bio
David Sussin was trained for all things creative at UCLA and the Groundlings Theater in Los Angeles. He spent years in television audience research, first at local Los Angeles news and sports station KCAL9, then with FOX Sports where he was lucky to find his way into a talented group of impressive people. He helped launch a national television network called FS1, guiding strategy for what shows to produce and how they should be scheduled based on focus groups, surveys, and those magical Nielsen numbers.
He went on to consult for Red Bull Media House, and analyzed digital media campaigns for KANTAR.
Since leaving the world of television, David has focused on writing, delivering stories for:
- The Why Files - crafting long-form YouTube scripts for the popular channel, focused on dark history, ancient mysteries, cryptids and aliens.
- The Conspiracy Report - turning breaking news in science and AI into 800 word posts that hook readers, sometimes at a pace of three per week.
- Politics Aside - writing a steady stream of made-up, fake absurdities based on the latest in politics.
David lives with his family in Los Angeles, with dreams of moving into the woods somewhere. He's currently finishing his first novel called Lost Pine, ironically, a thriller about a monster in the woods.
