Refunds and Cancellations Policy

Subscription Billing

Our subscription service provides email delivery of all content and the ability to comment on articles.

Billing Options:

  • Monthly subscription: Billed every month on the date you subscribe
  • Annual subscription: Billed once per year on the date you subscribe

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Your subscription automatically renews unless you cancel before the next billing date.

Cancellation Policy

You may cancel your subscription at any time with no penalty or cancellation fee.

How to Cancel:

  • Log in to your account
  • Go to Account Settings > Subscription
  • Click "Cancel Subscription"
  • Or email us at contact@politicsaside.net

When Cancellation Takes Effect:

  • Your cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
  • You will retain access to premium content and commenting until your paid period ends
  • You will not be charged again after cancellation
  • No partial refunds are provided for the remaining days in your billing period

Example: If you subscribe on January 15 and cancel on January 20, you will have access until February 15, and will not be billed on February 15.

Refund Policy

Standard Policy: We generally do not provide refunds for subscription fees, as you retain full access through the end of your paid period when you cancel.

Exceptions: We may provide refunds at our sole discretion in the following circumstances:

  • Technical issues prevented you from accessing the site for an extended period
  • You were billed in error (double charge, charged after cancellation, etc.)
  • Other exceptional circumstances

How to Request a Refund: Contact us at contact@politicsaside.net within 30 days of the charge. Include:

  • Your account email address
  • Date of charge
  • Reason for refund request

We will review your request and respond within 5-7 business days. Approved refunds are processed through Stripe and typically appear in 5-10 business days.

Changes to Subscription Price

We may change our subscription prices at any time. If we increase prices:

  • Current subscribers will be notified at least 30 days in advance
  • The new price will apply at your next renewal date
  • You may cancel before the new price takes effect

Account Access After Cancellation

Once your subscription ends:

  • You will no longer receive emails with new content
  • You can no longer post comments
  • Your previous comments remain visible unless you request account deletion
  • You may resubscribe at any time to regain access

Paused or Suspended Accounts

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate our Terms of Service. In such cases:

  • No refunds will be provided for remaining subscription time
  • Violations include posting prohibited content, harassment, or abuse
